6D 08 HIS HISTORY OF MEDIA IN MODERN INDIA
The course is designed to create a general awareness regarding the origin and development of press in India with particular reference to Kerala. The course will focus on the contributions of the European missionaries and the nationalist leaders for the growth of media both in English and Regional languages. The course will also discuss various aspects related to media like freedom of the press and Rights to Information Act. The last module of the programme deals with certain basic concepts related to Electronic and web media.
