The Department of History is organising a UGC National Seminar on the topic;
'Beyond the Margins;Reflections on Identity and New Socila Movements'
on 15th and 16th March 2011 at college Seminar Hall.The seminar will cover the following areas.
The question of identity.
New Social Movements
Problems of the marginalised
The sessions will be handled by experts.
Adequate opportunities for paper presentation will be provided to young researchers.

one day seminar on 'local history; problems and perspectives
one day seminar on 'local history; problems and perspectives conducted jointly by the dept. of history, sir syed college and library council, kannur on 13th january 2011. the seminar was inagurated by K.K.N.Kurup, former v.c. of university of calicut. Prof. ismayil, Pprof. c. balan, Prof. Mohandas, Mr. Thaha Madayi,etc presented papers in different sessions.
